About Kevin

KMG Hockey Development was established in 2020 by former professional hockey player Kevin Goumas after a knee injury ended his playing career. Built on years of high-level experience, KMG Hockey Development provides structured, results-driven hockey training for athletes across Long Island.

A Long Island native, Kevin played four years of Division I hockey at the University of New Hampshire before signing with the Philadelphia Flyers organization. He spent two seasons with the Flyers’ top affiliate, the Lehigh Valley Phantoms, in the American Hockey League (AHL), and later continued his career in Sweden—helping Mora IK earn promotion to Sweden’s top league while playing under Jeremy Colliton, now head coach of the Chicago Blackhawks.

After years of competing at elite levels, Kevin discovered a true passion for coaching and developing young athletes. Today, he works with players of all ages and skill levels—from beginners to professionals—focusing on skating, skill development, stickhandling, and shooting, with an emphasis on the little details that create real, long-term progress. Kevin’s mission is to build not only stronger hockey players, but also confident, disciplined, and hardworking people.
